I was contacted by Cogent Technologies originally to develop an overhaul of the user interface of the state’s mandated contract bid system. The reason I love this project was that the client took to heart my advice to stop thinking about the mandate and the data and start thinking of their users as “customers”. In the end, the site has been well received, Cogent created a robust data system and the average steps for users to complete a bid task was reduced from 15 steps to 6.
